Bicycle Keirin racing is a very popular sport in Japan which allows pari-mutuel wagering. These races have 6 to 9 riders that reach speeds of 45 m.p.h. and cover a distance of 2,000 meters. Keirin is also an Olympic event which the Japanese tend to dominate. In Japan, the Keirin velodromes rival any American football or baseball stadium in size, scale and comfort.
PROJECT ARCHITECT / DESIGNER:
Mr. Allan Fenyves is an architectural designer, project manager and ex-professional cyclist. He has an extensive experience in architecture designing residential, commercial, entertainment and multi-use sports projects. A few of the projects he is associated with are Sherwood Country Club and Tennis Center, Dole World Headquarters (Thousand Oaks, Ca.), Orange County Performing Arts Center (Costa Mesa, Ca.), and Shoreline Amphitheater (San Francisco, Ca.). He attended the University of Southern California receiving a degree in architecture.
In Cycling, Mr. Fenyves started racing in 1972. He has experience racing most disciplines of the sport and raced in the U.S. and Europe. He helped manage Encino Velodrome in California and funded the renovation in 1994. While attending USC, Mr. Fenyves was part the 1984 USC Olympic Committee and 1984 U.S. Los Angeles Olympic staff. Simply put, Mr. Fenyves is passionate about design and cycling which neatly intersect in the Arizona Keirin Velodrome Project.
PROJECT MARKETING / BRANDING DESIGNER:
Ms. Hutchins is an accomplished, senior branding and marketing professional with broad experience, encompassing strategic planning, qualitative & quantitative research, interactive marketing, creative development, media planning & buying, database /direct-marketing, sales promotion and visual merchandising, with the ability and skill set to provide creative, innovative, enthusiastic and forward-thinking leadership in a team environment. Focused on achieving continuous, improved business performance.
Ms. Hutchins also comes from a sports background, competing as a national swimmer for over 15 years. Then as an avid runner, participating in several races for the cure, the Bix 7 Road Race, several sprint triathlons, half marathons, as well as other road races, throughout the years. Ms. Hutchins is passionate about representing the Arizona Keirin Velodrome Project.
